PRB: Transporter Doesn't Position Text Correctly in FoxPro/MacID: Q110967 2.50b MACINTOSH kbprg kbprb The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you are transporting a screen from FoxPro for Windows that contains text that was right-aligned, the text is not right-aligned in FoxPro for Macintosh even though the same font is used. STATUSMicrosoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. MORE INFORMATIONAlthough fonts may have the same size and name, they still have different metrics in FoxPro for Windows and FoxPro for Macintosh. Therefore, it takes a different number of pixels to display the font on different platforms. The transporter lines objects up by their vertical position and horizontal position, which is specified by the upper-left corner of the object. Right- alignment, especially for text, will be off as a result. Steps to Reproduce Problem1. From FoxPro for Windows, create a new screen. 2. Place multiple text objects on the screen and stack them vertically above one another. 3. Press CTRL+A to select the objects. 4. From the Object menu, choose Font. Select a font that will be available on the Macintosh; for example, Times New Roman. 5. From the Screen menu, choose Show Position. 6. Using the object position as a reference, right-align the objects on the screen. 7. Save the screen and then open it up in FoxPro for the Macintosh and choose to transport it. The objects that were created will no longer be right-aligned.
