SUMMARY

You can add up to 32 buttons to each module's toolbar in Works. If you are running in a high video resolution, such as 1024 x 768, the toolbar may look as if it has room for several more items. However, if you try to add more than 32 items, you will receive the following message:

The toolbar is full. Cannot add more buttons. If you want to continue to add a button, you must first remove one.

MORE INFORMATION

Only one row of toolbar buttons can be displayed per module. If you are unable to add up to the maximum of 32 buttons, either increase the video resolution or click Customize Toolbar on the Tools menu and click the Remove Font Name and Point Size from the toolbar option.

For information about adding and removing items from the Works 3.0 toolbar, see the following pages (depending on the module in Works you are using) in the "Microsoft Works for Windows User's Guide":

  • Word Processor: pages 71 and 72
  • Spreadsheet: pages 157 and 158
  • Charting: pages 230 and 231
  • Database: pages 282 and 283
  • Database Reporting: pages 393 and 394
  • Communications: pages 441 and 442

In Works 4.0, 4.5, or 4.5a, for more information, click Index on the Help menu and search on "adding buttons to toolbars."

NOTE: Small gaps will sometimes appear between the icons on the toolbar. In this case, you can drag the buttons closer together to close the gap (which allows more buttons to fit on the toolbar).
