BUG: SetAbortProc() Incorrectly Returns Failure PSS ID Number: Q109540 Article last modified on 05-07-1994

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows Software Development Kit (SDK) for Windows version 3.1

SYMPTOMS

SetAbortProc() returns a negative value, which is documented as indicating failure.

CAUSE

The return value from SetAbortProc() does not indicate success or failure of the function.

RESOLUTION

The return value from SetAbortProc() should be ignored when an application is running under Windows 3.1.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft Windows SDK version 3.1. This problem has been corrected in Windows NT version 3.1. We will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
