SYMPTOMS
In the international, localized versions of Word for Windows, a general protection (GP) fault may occur when you save your document.
CAUSE
In the international, localized versions of Word, a GP fault may occur when you save a document that contains an embedded object in any foreign file format (even RTF).
This problem does NOT occur in the domestic version of Word 6.0 for Windows, nor does it occur if you save the document in Word Document file format.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the international localized versions of Word for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
