SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to start the network redirector, connect to a network drive, printer, or any other network device, the following error message may be displayed:

Network Busy

CAUSE

The "Network Busy" error message is usually caused by some type of hardware problem; it is rarely caused by the network being busy. Below are the most common causes of this error message:

Interrupt (IRQ) conflict
I/O address conflict
RAM address conflict
DMA conflict
Hub/Concentrator/Bridge/Router problem
Problem with another computer on the network
Disconnected or faulty cabling, connectors, or terminators
Faulty network card (on the local or a remote computer)
Incorrect Transceiver Type selection
Duplicate computer name on network
Incorrect network interface card (NIC) driver
