SYMPTOMS
If you have a Windows NT computer with a hard disk that is greater than 2 gigabytes (GB), MS-DOS clients on your network may have problems running certain applications because Windows NT reports zero free disk space whether there is free space available or not. For example, WordPerfect for Windows may exhibit problems during auto-save when it finds that there is no available space on the server.
Normally, the Windows NT redirector will handle communication with an MS- DOS client in such a way that MS-DOS always perceives there to be less than 2 GB of space on any given hard disk.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. This problem was corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1.
