Publisher: Unexpected Bullet Order in Bullet Dialog Box

------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - Microsoft Publisher version 2.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOMS ======== When you modify bullets from the Indents And Lists dialog box for a bulleted list in Publisher 2.0, the order in which the bullets appear in the dialog box may appear to be incorrect. MORE INFORMATION ================ The Indents And Lists dialog box in Publisher version 2.0 allows you to choose from three types of indent settings: Normal, Bulleted List, and Numbered List. When you select Bulleted List, the dialog box displays six bullet characters, each of which may be modified by choosing the New Bullet button. When you modify these bullets, the order in which they are displayed may change. Specifically, the last bullet changed will appear in position one (extreme left), and will become the default bullet character. This change will only appear once the Indents And Lists dialog box has been closed and reopened. Steps to Reproduce Problem -------------------------- 1. Open or switch to Microsoft Publisher version 2.0 and start with a blank page. 2. Create a text frame and choose Indents And Lists from the Format menu. 3. Select Bulleted List and note the six default bullet characters. 4. Starting from the left, change each bullet to a number beginning with 1 (for example, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6). In this example, the dialog box should now show the six bullets as numbers starting from 1 at the left and going to 6 on the right. 5. Choose the OK button to close the Indents And Lists dialog box and save your changes. 6. With the text frame still selected, choose Indents And Lists from the Format menu. Notice that the extreme left bullet is now a 6 rather than a 1. Additional query words: 2.00 mspub
