SYMPTOMS

If you run Hewlett-Packard (HP) NewWave version 4.1 with Microsoft Windows or Microsoft Windows for Workgroups, the Snap-to, Wrap Around, Magnify, and Locate functions in Mouse Manager do not work.

CAUSE

This problem is caused by the way that NewWave searches for Windows- based applications on your hard disk drive. It identifies Mouse Manager (MOUSEMGR.EXE) as an MS-DOS-based application instead of a Windows-based application; therefore, the four Extra Points functions are not operational.

RESOLUTION

Hewlett-Packard has created a file, MSMOUSE.SER, to correct this problem. To install this object file in NewWave, contact Hewlett-Packard NewWave Technical Support. The MSMOUSE.SER file is available for download through the Hewlett-Packard bulletin board service (BBS).
