SYMPTOMS
When the Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 Intelligent Instant Message (IM) Filter application is installed and enabled, the Live Communications Server service may time out when the service is started. Additionally, the following error message is logged in the Application log:
CAUSE
This problem occurs if one or more dependent applications do not register within the maximum time that is allowed. The maximum time is (60 + (30 * n
)) seconds. In this case, n
is the number of dependent applications.
RESOLUTION
This update is a complete installation package of the Intelligent IIM Filter. You must uninstall the current version before you install this update.
Warning If you made changes to your IIM configuration, back up the changes before you remove the Intelligent IIM Filter. To back up your changes, create a copy of the IIMFilter.config file. After you install the updated version, replace the IIMFilter.config file.
