APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004 Enterprise Edition
  • Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004 Standard Edition

SYMPTOMS

You are successfully using a Microsoft SQL Server query to return 10 rows of data from an IBM DB2 table. This query resembles the following.

SELECT TOP 10 * FROM IBMDB2.TESTDATA.USER1.TABLE1

However, after you apply a Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004 update for the OLE DB Provider for DB2, the query returns all the data in the IBM DB2 table instead of only the first 10 rows of data.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the OLE Provider for DB2 does not correctly update the variable that tracks the number of rows to be returned by the SQL Server query.
