SYMPTOMS
You install Microsoft Office Live Meeting Intranet Portal Service Pack 2 (SP2), and then you try to configure the portal for the first time. When you do this, you may receive one of the following error messages in Microsoft Internet Explorer:

CAUSE
Cause of additional error message 1
This issue occurs if you installed Live Meeting Intranet Portal SP2 to a Web site that is configured for non-standard port numbers. If you use a port number other than 80 for HTTP, or if you use a port number other than 443 for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), the Live Meeting Portal installation wizard creates shortcuts incorrectly.
Cause of additional error message 2
This issue occurs if you installed Live Meeting Intranet Portal SP2 on a server that also has Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services or Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server installed.
WORKAROUND
Workaround for additional error message 1
To work around this issue, correct the Live Meeting Portal shortcuts. To do this, follow these steps:
- Right-click the Live Meeting Intranet Portal shortcut, and then click Properties.
- Click the Web Document tab.
- If you are using the standard port 443 for SSL, type https://localhost/LMportal/Settings.aspx in the URL box, and then click OK.
If you are using a non-standard port for SSL, type https://localhost:XXX
/LMportal/Settings.aspx in the URL box, and then click OK.
Note In this step, XXX
is a placeholder for the port number that you are using.
- Repeat steps 1 through 3 for all Live Meeting Intranet Portal shortcuts.
Workaround for additional error message 2
To work around this issue, configure an exclusion for the path of the new virtual directory that is used by the Live Meeting Intranet Portal. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click SharePoint Central Administration.
- In the Virtual Server Configuration area, click Configure virtual server settings.
- On the Virtual Server List page, click Default Web Site.
- On the Virtual Server Settings page, click Define Managed Paths in the Virtual Server Management area.
- On the Define Managed Paths page, type lmportal in the Path box in the Add a New Path section.
- In the Type section, click Excluded Path, and then click OK.
- Verify that the path that you excluded is listed in the Excluded Paths section of the Define Managed Paths page.
