SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario:
- You run Windows Internet Explorer 7 on a Windows Vista-based computer.
- You enable protected mode in Internet Explorer 7.
- You use the innerHTML property in Internet Explorer 7 to change the HTML content in an onload event.
In this scenario, Internet Explorer 7 starts to render the Web page before the handling of the onload event has finished.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because Internet Explorer 7 processes the onload event incorrectly on a Windows Vista-based computer when protected mode is enabled.
RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
