When you start NTFSDOS Professional, the operating system stops responding (hangs)

SYMPTOMS

When you start NTFSDOS Professional, the operating system stops responding (hangs). This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:

  • The Adaptec SCSI AHA-2940UW SCSI card is installed on the computer.
  • The BIOS version of the SCSI card is version 1.21.

Note NTFSDOS Professional is a component of Winternals Administrator's Pak.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the BIOS version of the SCSI card is not the most recent version.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, update the BIOS version of the SCSI card to the most recent version.
