Article ID: 934945

Article Last Modified on 7/25/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Winternals Administrator's Pak 4.2
  • Winternals Administrator's Pak 5.0

SUMMARY

This article discusses why NTFSDOS Professional might not recognize a RAID array.

Note NTFSDOS Professional is a component of the Winternals Administrator's Pak.

MORE INFORMATION

If the RAID device supports MS-DOS natively, NTFSDOS Professional recognizes the RAID array of the device. If the RAID device does not support MS-DOS natively, you have to load MS-DOS ASPI drivers to make the device compatible with MS-DOS. Contact the device manufacturer for more information about MS-DOS support. If the device does not support MS-DOS in any way, NTFSDOS Professional does not recognize the RAID array of the device.

To test whether the device is compatible with MS-DOS, restart the computer from MS-DOS, and then run the Fdisk tool. If the Fdisk tool recognizes the RAID array configuration, the device is compatible with MS-DOS.
