MORE INFORMATION

If a computer becomes unbootable because of operating system problems, permissions issues, corrupted files, or another reason, you can use Remote Recover together with a tape drive or together with backup software in order to restore the computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Start the computer by using a Remote Recover client startup disk.
  2. Mount the drives of the computer by using the Remote Recover host program from a backup server.
  3. Create a restore job by using the backup software. When you do this, point the restore to the remote drives that are mounted by Remote Recover.
  4. Perform the restore operation.
  5. After the restore operation is complete, dismount the drives, and then restart the computer.
