Issues that the hotfix package fixes
This hotfix package fixes the following issue:
926886 CPU usage may be more than expected or the computer may stop responding during a full crawl or an incremental crawl of a Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 server
This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- You run a Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 database in SQL 2005 compatibility mode. When you try to use an ID from a lookup field of a custom list in the lookup field of another custom list, the ID Lookup column is not populated in the second custom list.
Note This problem does not occur when you run the database in SQL 2000 compatibility mode.

You can install this version of the hotfix package on a computer that is running Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 or Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 Service Pack 1. However, we have tested this hotfix package more extensively on Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 than on Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 Service Pack 1. If you install this hotfix package on a computer that is running Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 Service Pack 1, some file conflicts might occur. We support this configuration, but we do not recommend it.
