SYMPTOMS
When you try to update Microsoft Money 2007, Microsoft Money 2006, or Microsoft Money 2005, you receive the following error message:
Note This is the exact error message that you receive (the word "Internet" appears as "internet").
CAUSE
This issue occurs when you are using Windows Internet Explorer 7. This issue may occur if Internet Explorer 7 is configured not to use the SSL 2.0 protocol.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, configure Internet Explorer 7 to use the SSL 2.0 protocol. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Internet Explorer.
- On the Command bar or on the Tools menu, click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
- On the General tab under Browsing history, click Delete.
- Click Delete all, and then click Yes.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- In the Settings list under Security, click to select the Use SSL 2.0 check box, and then click OK.
- Close Internet Explorer 7.
- Close Money.
- Start Money, and then try to update Money.
Additionally, to resolve this issue, optimize Internet Explorer 7. To do this, clear the cache.
