SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. You install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services on a computer that is running one of the following operating systems:
- The Microsoft Windows Server Code Name "Longhorn" Beta 2 operating system
- The Microsoft Windows Vista operating system
In this scenario, you receive the following warning message for the IIS Feature Requirement item on the System Configuration Check page in the SQL Server 2005 Setup program:
CAUSE
This problem occurs because not all the IIS 7 components that SQL Server depends on are installed on your computer. The following table lists the affected components.

Note The Folder column in the table lists the folder under which the component resides. You encounter these folders when you run the IIS 7 Setup program.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, install the IIS 7 components that are not installed on the computer.
Note You cannot install IIS 7 by using the Add or Remove Programs item in Control Panel on a computer that is running one of the operating systems that are listed in the "Symptoms" section.
