APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0

SYMPTOMS

When another user creates a child entity in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, you can incorrectly view that child entity, even if the Share relationship and the Reparent relationship are set to CascadeNone.

This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:

  • The following relationships between a parent entity and a child entity are set to CascadeNone:
    • The Share relationship
    • The Reparent relationship
For example, the Share relationship and the Reparent relationship between the Account and the Opportunity are set to CascadeNone. In this example, the Account is a parent entity, and the Opportunity is a child entity.
  • A user creates a parent entity. For example, User 1 creates an Account.
  • A role has the User level Read permissions to the child entity and to the parent entity. It also has the Share permissions to the parent entity. The role is assigned to some users. For example, this role is assigned to User 2 and to you.
  • A user shares the parent entity to some users. For example, User 1 shares the Account to User 2 and to you.
  • A user creates a child entity that is associated with a parent entity. For example, User 2 creates an Opportunity that is associated with the Account.
