Article ID: 916567

Article Last Modified on 10/25/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. A user sends a plain text message from an Internet host that does not include a reply-to field in the P2 header. The message is routed through a Lotus Domino server to a user in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 organization by using the Microsoft Exchange Connector for Lotus Notes. The user in the Exchange Server 2003 organization uses Microsoft Outlook to reply to the message. In this scenario, the originator of the message cannot reply to the reply message.

This problem does not occur if the original message is sent in plain-text format and includes a reply-to field. Additionally, this problem does not occur if the original message is sent in HTML format.

Note The P2 part of a message is a header that describes the message and how the receiving message transfer agent (MTA) should deal with the message.

To resolve this problem, install the latest version of the Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Connector for Lotus Notes. To obtain the Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Connector for Lotus Notes, visit the Microsoft Download Center.
