SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, you receive the following error message:
This problem may occur in either of the following scenarios.
Scenario 1
You apply a manual workflow rule to a sales order that has associated products. Then, the manual workflow rule updates the sales order.
Scenario 2
You use order workflow rules. The order workflow rules update a Boolean field when a sales order is assigned to another user.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Professional Edition for Service Providers hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. The error message that is discussed in the "Symptoms" section can be viewed in the Microsoft CRM Workflow Monitor for the order rules. To view the error message, follow these steps on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server:
- Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft CRM, and then click Workflow Monitor.
- Change the view to Running.
- Change the value in the Type field to Order.
- Open any running rule that has the name of the workflow rule that updates a Boolean field after assigning a sales order.
- View the Status field and the Description field. The Status field displays "failed." The Description field displays the following message:
