SYMPTOMS
A scheduled online maintenance for an Exchange store database does not occur in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
CAUSE
This issue occurs if you restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service in the maintenance schedule window.
RESOLUTION
Do not restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service in the maintenance schedule window.
If you are experiencing this issue, restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service during a time that is outside the maintenance schedule window.

You can configure the online maintenance schedule for each Exchange store database from Exchange System Manager. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start Exchange System Manager.
- Expand Administrative Groups, expand Your_Administrative_Group, and then expand Servers.
- Expand Your_Server_Name, and then expand Your_Storage_Group.
- Right-click the mailbox store object that you want, and then click Properties.
- Click the Database tab.
- In the Maintenance interval box, click an appropriate schedule.
Note Click Customize if you want to customize the schedule.
- Click OK.
- Exit Exchange System Manager.
