INTRODUCTION
This article describes a new MAPI interface that you can use to retrieve mailbox tables on a per-store basis in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.
MORE INFORMATION
When you use the IExchangeManageStore::GetMailboxTable method or the IExchangeManageStore3.GetMailboxTableOffset method to obtain the mailbox table from a server that is running Exchange Server 2003, the mailbox table that is returned by these methods appears to contain some duplicate rows. You experience this issue if a recovery storage group is mounted on the server on which you run these methods.
This issue occurs because GetMailboxTable and GetMailboxTableOffset do not distinguish between mailboxes from an online mailbox store and mailboxes from a recovery storage group. Therefore, the mailbox table that these methods returns contains all the mailboxes from the particular server. These two methods do not provide a means to filter the returned results to let you determine which mailbox entries are from a recovery storage group.
This hotfix introduces a new interface that is named IExchangeManageStore5. This new interface exposes new functionality to let you retrieve a mailbox table that contains only the mailboxes from a particular mailbox store.
IExchangeManageStore5 contains the following two new methods.
IExchangeManageStore5::GetMailboxTableEx
The GetMailboxTableEx method obtains information about all the mailboxes on a server in a particular store.
HRESULT GetMailboxTableEx( LPSTR lpszServerName, LPGUID lpguidMdb, LPMAPITABLE FAR * lppTable, ULONG ulFlags, UINT uOffset );
Parameters
This method supports the following parameters.
Parameter name | Parameter type | Description |
lpszServerName | Input | This parameter specifies a string that contains the distinguished name of the server. |
lpguidMdb | Input | This parameter specifies a GUID that contains the value of the objectGUID attribute of the information store. |
lppTable | Output | This parameter specifies a MAPI IMAPITable interface that contains the information about all the mailboxes on the server that is specified in lpszServerName. |
ulFlags | Input | This represents a defined value that specifies whether the server name is in Unicode format. A value of MAPI_UNICODE indicates that the server name is in Unicode format. A value of 0 (zero) indicates that the server name is in ASCII format. |
uOffset | Input | This parameter indicates the offset from which to start the table. Use this parameter for stores that contain more than 64K of mailboxes. |
IExchangeManageStore5::GetPublicFolderTableEx
The GetPublicFolderTableEx method obtains information about all the public folders on a server in a particular store.
HRESULT GetPublicFolderTableEx( LPSTR lpszServerName, LPGUID lpguidMdb, LPMAPITABLE FAR * lppTable, ULONG ulFlags, UINT uOffset );
Parameters
This method supports the following parameters.
Parameter name | Parameter type | Description |
lpszServerName | Input | This parameter specifies a string that contains the distinguished name of the server. |
lpguidMdb | Input | This parameter specifies a GUID that contains the value of the objectGUID attribute of the information store. |
lppTable | Output | This parameter specifies a MAPI IMAPITable interface that contains the information about all the public folders on the server that is specified in lpszServerName. |
ulFlags | Input | This represents a defined value that specifies whether the server name is in Unicode format. A value of MAPI_UNICODE indicates that the server name is in Unicode format. A value of 0 (zero) indicates that the server name is in ASCII format. |
uOffset | Input | This parameter indicates the offset from which to start the table. Use this parameter for stores that contain more than 64K of public folders. |
