Memory usage of the CRMExchangeQueueService.exe process increases until the server that is running Microsoft Exchange stops responding

Article ID: 906266

Article Last Modified on 7/25/2006

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft CRM 1.2

SYMPTOMS

When many incoming e-mail messages are received and processed by the CRMExchangeQueueService.exe on a computer that is running Microsoft Exchange, the CRMExchangeQueueService.exe process continues to consume memory until the server stops responding.

CAUSE

For each incoming e-mail message that is handled by the CRMExchangeQueueService.exe process, approximately 370 KB of memory is allocated to the e-mail message. After the process handles the e-mail message, the memory is not recovered by the server. Therefore, memory usage continues to grow on the computer that is running Microsoft Exchange with the CRMExchangeQueueService.exe process. The server stops responding because it has insufficient available memory.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

904435 Update Rollup 2 is available for Microsoft CRM 1.2
