SYMPTOMS
The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service stops responding when an Internet Message Access Protocol version 4rev1 (IMAP4) user sends a list command to list the public folders in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
- The IMAP4 user does not have a private mailbox on the Exchange server.
- The Exchange server does not let IMAP4 users list the public folders.
RESOLUTION

Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
