SUMMARY

Depending on the date format selected in the International dialog box of the Windows Control Panel, an extra space may appear when you use the Print Long Date feature in Microsoft Works for Windows. (To use this feature, choose Special Character from the Insert menu, select the Print Long Date option button, and choose the OK button.)

MORE INFORMATION

In the Control Panel window, choose the International icon. Under Date Format choose the Change button. If nothing is selected for the day name under Long Date Format, when you use the Print Long Date feature in Works for Windows, an extra space appears at the beginning of the string in print preview and/or on the actual printout. This problem is most noticeable if the Print Long Date placeholder is left justified. Also, if you leave the comma separator between the day name and the month, the date is preceded by a comma.

The day name must be part of selected in the Date Format dialog box in order to make the Print Long Date feature to work correctly in Works for Windows.
