SYMPTOMS
When you reply to an e-mail message in Microsoft Business Solutions CRM (Microsoft CRM), a corresponding activity is not created in Microsoft CRM.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because you are replying to an e-mail address for a user who is a member of your domain, but that user is not set up as a user in Microsoft CRM.
RESOLUTION
Microsoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

Steps to reproduce the problem
- Log on to Microsoft CRM as
CRM-user
@contoso.com.
Note The following steps assume that Microsoft CRM is installed in the contoso.com domain. - Follow these steps to create a contact for another domain user who is not a Microsoft CRM user:
- Click Create a New Contact.
- In the First Name box, type Pilar.
- In the Last Name box, type Ackerman.
- In the E-mail box, type pilar_ackerman@contoso.com.
- On the File menu, click Save and Close.
- Follow these steps to create an e-mail activity to the new contact:
- Click Create a New E-Mail.
- Click the To box.
- Select Contact in the Type list, and then click Go.
- Select Pilar Ackerman, click Add the selected record, and then click OK.
- Click the CC box.
- Select Contact in the Type list, and then click Go.
- Select a contact whose e-mail address is not in the contoso.com domain. Click Add the selected record, and then click OK.
- Click Send.
