MORE INFORMATION

FrontPage 2002 and Turkish language customers

When you visit the Office Update Web site, you may be prompted to install this update when you have either Microsoft FrontPage 2002, SharePoint Team Services or Office XP installed. This behavior occurs because this security update includes an update to both the English and Turkish versions of Microsoft FrontPage 2002 and SharePoint Team Services and a shared file in Office XP. To visit the Microsoft Office Update Web site, click the following link:

This update resolves an issue that occurs in SharePoint Team Services and in FrontPage 2002 where the value of the Turkish Lira is displayed only in TL format.

Note FrontPage 2002 and Office XP are not vulnerable to the security issues that are listed later in this "More Information" section. Those security issues apply only to SharePoint Team Services.

When you add a "Currency" column in SharePoint Team Services or in FrontPage 2002, you do not receive an option to configure the column so that the value of the Turkish Lira is displayed both in the old TL format and in the new YTL format.

For additional information about this issue and how to install this update so that it resolves the Turkish Lira issue, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

890850 The value of the Turkish Lira is not displayed in both the old TL format and the new YTL format in SharePoint Team Services and FrontPage 2002

Issues that the security update for SharePoint Team Services (KB890829) fixes

The Security Update for SharePoint Team Services (KB890829) fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

  • ===== Integrated Windows authentication is disabled for the virtual server when you install Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) =====

After you install FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1), you notice that Integrated Windows authentication is disabled on the virtual server in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 that FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 is running on. Therefore, when you try to connect to the FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 Server Administration Web page, you receive the following error message:

You are not authorized to view this page.

  • ===== You receive a "The list or view of a list that is referenced here no longer exists" error message when you connect to a SharePoint Team Services Web site in the Japanese version of SharePoint Team Services. =====

An administrator uses the Server Health feature to synchronize the databases of the root Web site. When a user who does not have administrative credentials connects to a SharePoint Team Services Web site that is based on a subweb of the root Web site, the user receives the following error message:

The list or view of a list that is referenced here no longer exists.

  • ===== The permissions that are assigned to the "Everyone" group in the Shared Documents folder are not removed when you turn off the anonymous access for your SharePoint Team Services Web site. =====

You turn off anonymous access for your SharePoint Team Services Web site. When you view the permissions that are set for the Shared Documents folder, the Everyone group is still assigned the List Folder Contents permission. When you view the permissions that are set on the files in the Shared Documents folder, the Everyone group is still assigned read permissions. Therefore, users can access documents in the Shared Documents library even though they do not have permissions to access the SharePoint Team Services Web site.

Note The Shared Documents folder is located in the following location:

    Drive:\Inetpub\Wwwroot

  • ===== When you try to open a Web page that is linked to 'Filelist.xml" in your Microsoft FrontPage 2002 Web site, FrontPage 2002 may stop responding. =====

This behavior may occur after you install the hotfix that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

    822821 Availability of the FrontPage 2002 Post-Service Pack 2 Hotfix Package: June 13, 2003

  • ===== When you click a hyperlink on your SharePoint Team Services Web site, you may receive the following error message: =====

The list or view of a list that is referenced here no longer exists.

This problem may occur when a different user performs a Synchronize Database command on the root Web of your SharePoint Team Services Web site. When the user performs this function, the lists that are contained on your Web page may be broken.

The Security Update for SharePoint Team Services (KB890829) includes the following update:

A new parameter is available for the Owsadm.exe command-line tool that you can use to enable Integrated Windows authentication when you extend a virtual server.

A new parameter for the Owsadm.exe command-line tool is included in this update. You can use the new enablentlm parameter to enable Integrated Windows authentication on the virtual server in Microsoft Internet Information Services version 6.0. The following are examples of how to use the new enablentlm parameter with the Owsadm.exe command-line tool.

  • How to use the Owsadm.exe command-line tool to enable Integrated Windows authentication when you extend a virtual server:

    owsadm -o install -p 80 -u administrator -enablentlm

  • How to use the Owsadm.exe command-line tool to enable Integrated Windows authentication when you create an administration virtual server:

    owsadm -o setadminport -p 8080 -enablentlm
