SYMPTOMS

The same date appears two times in the Microsoft CRM 1.2 calendar. For example, October 8, 2004 appears two times. This problem occurs every year in the second week of October.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Santiago (Chile) time zone changes for daylight-saving time in the second week of October. This problem also occurs because the Eastern European Time zone changes for daylight-saving time in March.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Click Start, click Run, type timedate.cpl, and then click OK.
  2. Click the Time Zone tab.
  3. Select (GMT -04:00) Santiago in the list, and then click to select the following check box:

    Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes

  4. Click Apply, and then click OK.
  5. Log on to the Microsoft CRM Web client.
  6. On the New menu, point to New Activity, and then click Task.
  7. In the Task window, click Select date.
  8. Click the forward (>) button until October appears.
