- Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Edition
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
SYMPTOMS
When you start Event Viewer and then click Application to view the Application log, you receive the following error message:
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the Application log file is exactly full. For example, consider the following scenario:
- On the General tab of the Application Log Properties dialog box, you set the Maximum log size value to 64 kilobytes (KB).
- You click Overwrite events as needed, and then click OK.
- Events are logged that fill the Application log to exactly 64 KB.
In this scenario, the EndRecord method does not wrap to the start of the Application log file. Instead, it remains at the end of the log file. Therefore, the ReadFromLog method fails.
