SYMPTOMS
If you click a hyperlink on a Web page that is contained in a Microsoft Office XP Web Component (OWC), such as in a Microsoft Excel Worksheet object, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 may quit unexpectedly.
CAUSE
This problem may occur when all the following conditions are true:
- You installed Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).
- The version of the Microsoft Office XP Web Components that is installed on your computer is version 10.00.00.5851 or earlier.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, install a later version of the Microsoft Office XP Web Components on your computer. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

- Click Start, and then click Search.
- Click All files and folders.
- In the All or part of the file name text box, type owc10.dll.
- In the Look in drop-down list box, click your hard disk drive, and then click Search
- Right-click the file that was found, and then click Properties.
- On the Version tab, locate the file version.
