You may not be able to see areas for adding data when you create a pivot table in Excel 2002

SYMPTOMS

When you create a pivot table in Microsoft Excel 2002, you may not be able to see the following areas:

  • Drop Column Fields here
  • Drop Row Fields here
  • Drop Page Fields here


CAUSE

This problem may occur if you have not activated a Microsoft Office program that you installed separately after you install and activate Microsoft Office XP.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

  1. Verify that you have activated Microsoft Office XP.


If you install any other Office programs separately, such as Microsoft Publisher after you install and activate Microsoft Office XP, you must also activate those programs.

  1. Install the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP.
