SYMPTOMS
After you install Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) on your Microsoft Windows Small Business Server (SBS) 2003-based computer, you may experience one or both the following symptoms:
- When you try to access your Exchange Server 2003 mailbox by using Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) with forms-based authentication, you receive the following error message:
Domain
\Username
format, you can use OWA to obtain access to your Exchange Server 2003 mailbox.
If you specify your user name in the - You receive an e-mail alert message from Windows SBS 2003 that is similar to the following e-mail alert message:
CAUSE
This problem occurs because of the changes that Exchange Server 2003 SP1 makes to Windows SBS 2003. Exchange Server 2003 SP1 replaces the Windows SBS 2003 OWA Logon.asp page with the standard Exchange Server 2003 Logon.asp page. The customized Windows SBS 2003 Logon.asp page does not require users to type a domain name when they log on to their mailbox by using OWA.
Additionally, in the original release version of Exchange Server 2003, the virtual memory that is dedicated to the Jet database cache is all allocated as mapped bytes. In Exchange Server 2003 SP1, the virtual memory that is dedicated to the Jet database cache is all allocated as private bytes. This causes the memory size that is reported by the Store.exe process to be larger for private bytes and smaller for mapped bytes after you install Exchange 2003 SP1. Although no additional memory is used, the memory is reported differently.
