SYMPTOMS
When a 16-bit program calls the SETUPAPI!SetupDiBuildDriverInfoList function, you may receive an access violation error message in Krnl386.exe (16-bit).
CAUSE
This problem occurs because a 16-bit program runs the Crypt32.dll file, and the Crypt32.dll file calls the W32FindResource function to load the string resource of the Sp3res.dll file. However, the API calls the FindResource16 function by using a module handle of the Sp3res.dll file. Therefore, an access violation occurs.
