This article applies to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) and a Microsoft Access project (.adp).
SYMPTOMS
If both Microsoft Access 2000 and Access 2000 Runtime are installed on your computer, you may notice the following problems when you use Access 2000:
- When you try to start Access wizards, such as the Table Wizard or the Form Wizard, nothing occurs.
- When you try to open an .mde file by using Access 2000, you may not be able to open the .mde file. You may receive the following error message, and then Access 2000 may quit unexpectedly:
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, you must remove Access 2000 Runtime from your computer. To do this, follow these steps:
Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- In Add/Remove Programs, select Microsoft Access 2000 Runtime, and then click Remove.
- Click Yes to remove Access 2000 Runtime.
