APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition

SYMPTOMS

When you programmatically create a new recurring appointment by using Collaborative Data Objects (CDO), your code does not complete the appointment creation procedure. Instead, your program enters an infinite loop.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when all the following conditions are true:

  • An all-day recurring appointment already exists on the daylight-saving time transition day.
  • The time zone is set to certain non-Coordinated Universal Time (non-Greenwich Mean Time) time zones. For example, the time zone is set to UTC+2.
  • You try to create an appointment by using CDO, not necessarily on that daylight-saving time transition day.

In this scenario, a CDO thread may go into an infinite loop when you try to add the new appointment.
