Microsoft Windows XP and the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 family include built-in support for IEEE 802.11 wireless networks configuration and security. Learn more about IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN networking and its related authentication technologies for a Windows environment at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/technologies/networking/wifi/default.mspx. The Support WebCast session will provide information about the best practices to set up a home wireless network. The session will walk you through different solutions, from the simple peer-to-peer wireless networks and Internet Connection Sharing, to the more sophisticated infrastructure mode configuration (requiring wireless access points) and Wi-Fi Protected Access with Pre-Shared Key (WPA-PSK).

This is a Level 200 session that will be presented by Mihai Peicu. Mihai Peicu has worked at Microsoft for the last six years in the Windows Networking group. Mihai worked to add support for wireless NIC drivers in Windows 2000 and was part of the team that released wireless configuration and authentication services in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Mihai has a Bachelor of Science degree in EE from the Polytechnics Institute of Bucharest, Romania.
