SYMPTOMS

Your computer sends one gratuitous Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) packet after you try to disable the gratuitous ARP function in Microsoft Windows 2000, as described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles:

CAUSE

This problem may occur when your computer is configured to use a static IP address.
