SYMPTOMS

If you try to pass certain parameters to an .idc file by using a query string in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), you may receive one of the following error messages:

Error Performing Query
Invalid Index.

-or-

Error Performing Query
The data area passed to a system call is too small.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the parameters that are passed to the .idc file contain one of the following character sequences:

The Internet Database Connector (Httpodbc.dll) no longer permits these character sequences in query strings that are passed to .idc files.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, do not use these character sequences in query strings that are passed to .idc files.
