Received headers may be missing from the header area of e-mail messages in Exchange 2000 Server

SYMPTOMS

When you view the Received header area of an e-mail message that you expect to contain more than one block of Received headers, you cannot see all the Received headers.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the message has been routed through the IMAIL component of your Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server computer. IMAIL is a component of the information store that facilitates conversion of messages between Internet and MAPI storage formats.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Exchange 2000 Server service pack that contains this hotfix.
