MacOFFX: Printing to a Generic PostScript Printer Has Unexpected Results

SYMPTOMS

When you print to a generic PostScript printer from a Microsoft Office v.X program, you may receive unexpected results. For example, you may experience the following symptoms:

  • Envelopes printed from Microsoft Word are not aligned correctly.
  • Microsoft Excel does not print correctly to legal-size paper.


CAUSE

This issue may occur if you are using the generic PostScript printer driver for the printer instead of the specific driver for your make and model of printer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, contact the manufacturer of your printer to obtain the latest printer drivers for your printer.
