SYMPTOMS
When you print a Microsoft Windows Journal note that contains highlighted content, the highlighted content may not appear on the printed document. The highlight color may be opaque. As a result, the highlighted content may not be visible.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if any of the following conditions is true:
- The printer driver is out of date.
- The printer driver does not support the advanced printing functionality, such as transparency support, that the printer must use to print the highlighted content.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, install the latest driver for the printer. You may have to contact the printer manufacturer to obtain the latest version.
WORKAROUND
If the problem continues after you install the latest printer driver, you can work around the problem. To do so, save the Windows Journal note as a Web Archive (.mht) file, and then printing the document from Internet Explorer. To do this, follow these steps:
- In Windows Journal, on the File menu, tap Save As. In the Save as type box, select Single File Web Page, type a name for the note, and then tap Save.
- Start Internet Explorer. On the File menu, tap Open, locate the file that you created in step 1, and then tap OK.
- On the File menu, tap Print, and then tap Print.
Because the Windows Journal note content is saved as a static image in the Web Archive file, the ink is printed as a single-layer image.
