APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Outlook 2002 Service Pack 2

SYMPTOMS

If all the following conditions are true after you create a recurring meeting in Outlook 2002

  • You cancel one of the occurrences of the recurring meeting that you just created.

-and-

  • You add an additional attendee to the recurring meeting that you just created.

-and-

  • You send an update on the recurring meeting to the newly added attendee.

Outlook 2002 resets the attendee status for all attendees, and it incorrectly sends all attendees two notifications. One notification requires all attendees to accept the recurring meeting again, instead of just sending this notification to the one attendee that you added. The other notification is a duplicate cancellation notice for the single occurrence that you deleted from the recurring meeting.
