SYMPTOMS
A Microsoft Word 2002 Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) routine that steps through the Paragraphs collection of a document runs slower then expected when a mail merge data source is attached to the document.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Word 2002. This problem was first corrected in Office XP Service Pack 3.
