Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3a (SP3a) update is available and replaces the previously released SP3. If you successfully upgraded to SP3, you may not have to apply SP3a. This Support WebCast will talk about what changed and how to decide if applying SP3a in your environment is appropriate. The WebCast will discuss security and functionality in MSDE installations that also changed in SP3a, and then talk about the MDAC changes that primarily drove the release.

This is a Level 200 session that will be presented by Maxwell Myrick. Maxwell Myrick is a Program Manager with SQL Server at Microsoft. He recently took over responsibility for SQL Server's upgrade abilities and was the release manager for SQL Server SP3a. For the last three years, he has run the SQL Customer Lab program. Its purpose is to find interesting and challenging SQL Server–based programs and work through issues side-by-side with the developers and architects of the product. Maxwell has been in various computer development and support roles in the industry since 1992.
