SYMPTOMS
When you use Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) to open an appointment programmatically, and then you call the MAPIOBJECT property from the CDO appointment, you receive an error message that is similar to the following:
When you perform additional troubleshooting, you notice that the error occurs during the execution of a line of code that is similar to the following:
pBaseUnknown.Attach(pCDOAppointment->GetMAPIOBJECT());
Note You expect the program to return an error code when it encounters an error retrieving the MAPIOBJECT property.
CAUSE
This access violation occurs when you call the GetMAPIOBJECT method for a corrupted appointment item.
