SYMPTOMS

When you view the Advanced tab in the Program Properties dialog box, packages and programs that are set to run first and have more than 29 characters appear cut off and cannot be identified.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Program and Package drop down boxes in the Advanced tab of the Program Properties dialog box have a 29-character limit. Package or program names that are longer than 29 characters appear cut off.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.
