SYMPTOMS

When you try to use Outlook 97 or Outlook 2000 to send e-mail, you may receive one of the following error messages:

timeout occurred while communicating with the server. Server_Name 0x800ccc19

-or-

Unable to connect to the server, error 0x800cccoe

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you have Trend Micro Pc-cillin Antivirus software installed on your computer. The error message may be caused by the Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) trap utility.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, turn off the POP3 trap utility. For information about how to turn off the POP3 trap utility, contact Trend Micro.
