SYMPTOMS
When you connect to a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server computer by using a third-party Internet Message Access Protocol, Version 4rev1 (IMAP4) client program over a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection, the IMAP4 client program may stop responding (hang).
CAUSE
This issue may occur if memory buffers on the network transport stack are not completely flushed. This issue occurs because the third-party IMAP4 client program does not send "no operation" (NOOP) commands to the Exchange 2000 computer.
