APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Move Mailbox command (right-click the user object, point to Exchange Tasks, and then click Move Mailbox) to move mailboxes from one Exchange computer to another Exchange computer, the Internet Message Access Protocol, Version 4rev1 (IMAP4) subscription list of some users is not copied. As a result, when a user logs on to the Exchange computer by using Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) or another mail client and then views their mailbox, only the default folders appear in the Folders list. The folders that the user has subscribed to are missing.

You experience these symptoms even though the user's mailbox is successfully moved to the destination Exchange computer. You do not receive an error message and no event ID is logged to indicate that the IMAP subscription list is not retained during the move operation to the destination Exchange server.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the IMAP4 subscription list that is copied is larger than the buffer size for IMAP4 subscriptions lists in Exchange 2000.
